Roadside Garages 10k & Fun Run

The
first ever Roadside Garages 10k Race and 4k Fun Run will
take place on Saturday 29th August. The event, which is organised by Pegasus Athletic Club, sponsored by Roadside Garages, Coleraine and supported by Coleraine Borough Council, is aimed
at bringing together serious athletes, fun runners and fundraisers in a fun atmosphere.
Starting at Roadside Garages, Coleraine at 11am, there is two planned routes,
a 10k race route and a 4k Fun Run route both will finish up back at Roadside Garages. Proceeds
raised will go to Northern Ireland charity,
The Ulster Cancer Foundation.
Ian Lamont from Roadside Garages, Coleraine,
said, “We are pleased to be involved with Coleraine based Pegasus’ in arranging the event. We both came together
and identified that Coleraine was lacking in an annual local Race and Fun Run and decided to start one up to encourage people
to come together to exercise and raise money for a worthy cause.”
Mayor of Coleraine, Cllr
Sandy Wilkinson, added; “At Coleraine Borough Council we are encouraging people to adopt healthier lifestyles and this event is ideal for people
to get active. We hope that the event attracts lots of runners to raise much needed funds for the Ulster Cancer Foundation.”
Ralph Thom from Pegasus Athletic Club, Coleraine, commented; “This
is a great opportunity to promote the club and the benefits of leading a fit and healthy lifestyle. I encourage everyone,
of all fitness levels, to participate and make it a yearly tradition. The Ulster Cancer Foundation is a charity that everyone
can identify with and we hope to raise as much funds as possible to donate to them.”
