The annual Pegasus AC charity run took place with 36 runners in attendance during the mild but chilly Boxing Day. Just under £200 was raised in support of the NI Boxer Dog Rescue Society. Runners were required to either run 4.8 miles or 3 miles depending on how they felt after the Christmas
Day fattening! One competitor to note was double Olympic rower Richard Archibald
giving running a try after his recent retirement from international competition. Also
competing was former NI Commonwealth athlete Julie Murphy and world veteran triathlete participant Anne Paul.
Bryan Edgar of Springwell RC put in a fine performance to win from fellow clubmate Colin Loughry and Leslie Ashe in
3rd place. Richard Archibald had a brilliant battle with Anne Paul
who won the women’s section from Julie Murphy (Lagan Valley AC). Barry of
the society addressed the runners after their great efforts wishing them all a Happy New Year along with Pegasus AC chairman
Peter Crook after the spot prizes were given out.
Pegasus AC would like to wish all readers a Happy New Year and best wishes for the incoming year.
