Pegasus Runners fly at Knockdhu International!

Three Pegasus runners made it out for the “P&0 Knockdhu International”, which was well run by Larne AC on 29 th April. As reported from a few weeks, Ballymoney’s Jason Wilson was competing for Northern Ireland in the Under 20 International, against a total of 15 runners from Scotland and Wales over a short but gruelling 4.5km course with 210 metres of climbing to look forward to!

Jason started well, with the majority of the Scottish and Welsh runners speeding off, whereas Jason stuck onto the leading Northern Ireland athlete Thomas Turner. For nearly all the race, Jason and Thomas were chopping and changing places. In the end, it came down to a quarter mile sprint downhill to the finish, where Jason and Thomas come over the line together, and both getting 10 th and 1 st NI athletes home.

Peter Bell and Shirley Park were also present, taking part in the longer senior race over 7km with 420 metres of climbing. Peter achieved a great result, coming home 2 nd Vet 50 in a time of 49:55, only a minute behind some Veteran International runners. Shirley stormed through to the finish in 1:02:12, beating some male rivals in the process!
