The NI / Ulster Senior Cross Country Championships were held at its traditional venue around the University of Ulster (Coleraine)
course. Conditions were near perfect for the big event, with the ground conditions nothing to be complained about at
this time of year. Runners from over 11 clubs were competing. This is one of the longest cross country races in
the UK, with a gruelling 6 LAPS of a 2km undulating course to challenge the best runners in Ulster to their maximum!
Jason Wilson, Pegasus AC’s young gun managed to finish a competitive 54th in the very high calibre field, with Commonwealth
triathlete Brian Campbell of Willowfield taking the win from his club team mate Deane Fisher. Annadale Striders (with
Paddy Hamilton in 3rd position) managed to take a marvellous 21st team title from reigning champions City of Derry AC and
Letterkenny AC.
